Nate MacDonald
Age: 22
Hometown: Coquitlam (and don't mix that up with any other cities)
Schooling: I just finished my 4th year of an endless major at SFU (eventually it will be Kinesiology)
Years of biking competitively: I started racing on the road in 2002, so that I could race in the BC Summer games (that would make this year 9)
Years with the team: 4
Past sporting experience: I spent most of my time as a kid playing baseball (14 seasons or so), and had a good run at soccer
How you got into the sport: All my credit goes to the SPOKE program. A school Mountain Bike series. Plus I caught some lucky breaks, first having an incredibly supportive teacher to take us out riding, thank you to Mr. Bob Stoffberg, and I ended up on a team, and I believe they say, the rest is history.
Riding strengths: When the road tilts up
Hobbies: As anyone who has ever been on the team can support, my favourite hobby is probably sleeping. If we can count my favourite food as a hobby, then my second favourite hobby is rice, just as long as there is enough of it. I am also a big fan of the outdoors, I don’t do it nearly enough, but camping is up at the top of my list too.
