Westside Connection: Men's Road Race

After a couple months of hard racing and road tripping, the members of the Trek Red truck cycling team were all looking forward to a fun weekend of racing on home turf. With Mosaic Homes sponsoring the big event and a ton of other team sponsors out to watch, it was the perfect opportunity for the team to show a little appreciation. The first couple of laps were pretty tame as the field sized each other up but when things started getting spicy, the guys kept things in check, following all the moves and sending guys up the road. The last time up the major climb, Old man bell threw in a delicious little effort, putting himself and one other rider up the road, forcing the other teams to chase. This provided Tyler with an excellent opportunity to add to the team trophy case. Trace flipped his sprint switch to 11, took the win and then proceeded to spray himself in the eye with podium champagne. This caused many an embarrassing situation later in the evening as he continually and unknowingly winked at people during post race conversation.

After a quick shower it was off to the post race dinner at the James house. The food was most excellent and rivaled only by the great company!
